Meet our team of workshop leaders for our DIY Workshops! With a wealth of education and knowledge behind our team at Homeworks Etc, we know the impact that creating can have on the well-being of both adults and children. Creativity boosts confidence and helps us to relax, focus on the task at hand and get lost in the process of making. At Homeworks Etc, we embrace the social experience of getting to know others! Our DIY workshops have been described as therapeutic - and that has us feeling proud to offer our tried-and-true selection of DIY projects for Adults, Teens and Kids.
Jacqueline is the founder and owner of Homeworks Etc, a creative lifestyle store. She has married her educational and professional background in Therapeutic Recreation with over 10 years as a maker, creator and decorator – to offer exceptional group DIY workshops and experiences grounded in creativity, connection and wellness. Her innovative DIY home decor opportunities welcome both adults and children to the crafting table.
In a world of Pinterest and craft ideas, Jacqueline loves to take ideas, tweak them and design NEW products, and offer you a fun DIY experience to create a home space that you love!
When not decorating cozy nooks in her own home, Jacqueline loves to spend time at the beach with her family, and always enjoys a glass of wine and a good chat with friends!
Nicole has always loved to create, whether it is with paint and canvas or glass and concrete. In addition to DIY projects, painting and home decor, she loves to be outdoors - walking, hiking and camping with her fur-baby and husband.
Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Education from the University of Regina and in 2015, launched her small business, Sand and Stone Studio. She shares her love for creativity and teaching at Homeworks Etc.
Christina is a mother, wife, teacher and artist. When she is not creating with her students or on her own, she is likely exploring the beach or trails throughout South Surrey and White Rock with her family. Christina graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education, and currently teaches visual art in the Surrey School District. Christina loves to create and teach, and hopes that her passion is contagious!
Sarah started working with fabric at an early age, learning to sew under the guidance of her seamstress mum. She loved to make pyjama bottoms and teddy bears for her girlfriends! Today, Sarah continues to create one-of-a-kind gifts for family and friends – giving to others, with her personal touch, is her motivation.
Sarah graduated from the Community Development program at Columbia College, and in addition to leading DIY workshops, she works full-time in the Homeworks Etc shop. Sarah is happiest when adventuring with her dog, Dublin, and loves to get lost in a good video game. “It’s all about balance!” she laughs.
